Session 5 – Systems of Accountability
Good Data and Good Governance
This session is designed to encourage housing practitioners to find ways to look for, to listen to and to judge success from a variety of stakeholder perspectives. This may require a re-imaging how success is defined, and how housing professionals work with people to achieve the desired goals and outcomes of individuals, families and communities.
Desired Outcomes:
● For housing practitioners to devise a plan to improve collaborative governance, and community ownership amongst racially marginalized community members.
● Discover what we need to do to improve residents’ experience, and what we need to do to increase access to financial/housing equity where it is desired by residents.
● For housing practitioners to devise a plan to engage in research to identify the needs of various stakeholders, including housing agencies, tenants and landlords
● Funders, advocates and community members to form an alliance going forward to oversee the progression of this work.
● For housing practitioners to develop a set of creative metrics that help judge the success of initiatives for tenants, housing agencies and landlords, and homeowners
