Barbara is a diversity and inclusion strategist with a strong portfolio of facilitating cultural change. Her experience spans from establishing diversity and inclusion system frameworks and policies, to shaping and developing organisational and strategic pathways at Board level. Although she has worked across many sectors she has deep experience in working locally, nationally and internationally within the public sector, having been the UK lead on positive action (race and gender) and LGBT equality.

She is a systems agitator, bringing deep reflection to how policy meets practice, and how people are impacted through governance, delivery or services, planning and employment. She brokers conversations of the ‘context’ of inclusion within teams and organisations – with the focus on measurable and sustainable outcomes that enable inclusive change. She is an educator, and change facilitator.

Her PhD research has reflected her interest and passion, in highlighting how inequitable systemic processes are enabled by organisational culture(s), impacting how gender inequality has been experienced through everyday organisational governance.

Her more recent work has included both Director and Non-Executive Director roles, membership of a number of COVID19 related strategic recovery boards including the COVID19 Race Strategy Group for Bristol, the Mayoral Domestic Violence Commission, the Equality COVID19 Recovery Group, and the Global Coalition for Action Strategy Group for Race Equality. Truly believing that change begins with relationship, She is a practiced and experienced coach, mediator and intuitive mentor.
