Vermont is well on the road to improving racial justice in Vermont housing, and finding its way out of a jam. Thank you to Vermont Housing & Conservation Board, Vermont Housing Finance Agency, Champlain Housing Trust, RuralEdge, Twin Pines Housing, Cathedral Square and NeighborWorks America and Windham & Windsor Housing Trust for choosing Abundant Sun to join state-wide efforts.
We’ve been tasked with putting together a special group of community members and housing practitioners to come up with an educational program for housing practitioners and the public. We affectionately call our group ‘The Vermont Racial Justice Housing Jam’. The Jam has been at it for the past few months, having fun, getting to know one anothers’ perspectives and needs, and really digging deeply into systemic racism within housing structures and cultures. We have some juicy content and conservations for you to help us create our way out of harmful systemic cycles.
Events will take place from September 2022 – March 2023. To find out more about this project, and to register your interest in attending the events, please visit our website here.
